Kathy Field, MSW, LGSW
Kathy received her Master of Arts degree in Social Work
from the University of St. Thomas / College of St. Catherine in
St. Paul, Minnesota.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Family
Life from University of Wisconsin- Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
She is presently licensed in Minnesota as a Graduate Social Worker
and is working on attaining her independent license in social work.
Kathy has worked with at-risk children and families since
1998, and she taught birth through 5-year-olds and their parents previous to this.
Currently at FACTS her role is to work with parents and their
children referred by the county for parent education support and skills. She
intends to expand her work as a therapist by doing play therapy with
traumatized children, as well as working with parents and couples.
Kathy's passion is to see children and their parents or
guardians develop a healthy attachment despite circumstances. She has been
trained in domestic violence, wrap- around facilitation with children and
their support systems, family group decision making, positive parenting, and
therapeutic interventions which include:
psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy,
emotionally-focus therapy (EFT), attachment and non-directive play therapy.
She has also published a research study,
